I often comment on various blogs to say I'll try a recipe if I really like it. Sometimes I get around to it, other times I dont - either because I dont have an ingredient or I never make it happen. This space is especially created for those recipes from my blogger friends that I'd like to try and let you see if I was able to recreate them and do them justice.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I'm enjoying it !
This recipe is from the blog
http://RunninSrilankan.com by Shashi Charles.
Here is her recipe
See below for my comments on the recipe
I followed the exact recipe that Shashi provided and I used old fashioned oats and pulsed them through a nutribullet to coarsely grind them.
Overall - loved the ease of making this cookie. Really, for a non-baker, there is nothing easier to make.
The flavors from regular peanut butter was great , slightly salty but I liked it. The added sugar is very little as compared to regular cookies. Both my husband and I liked that fact - since the cookies weren't overly sweet. If you are making this for kids, definitely double the sugar quantity.
Thank you so much! Knowing you liked it enough to have them as your first post in this category made my day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad yall liked this cookie!
Sometimes I drizzle this with melted semi sweet chocolate and my daughter doesn't mind the lack of sugar.
I say I am going to try so many recipes but rarely get around to it! It's funny because I'm pretty sure I told Shahi I was going to make these...but I am actually going to! I might eat the entire batch at once. There really is no combo better than pb and oats!
ReplyDeleteactually i'm not a fans of oatmeals, but this kind of cookies twist are tempting to try!
